Sabah Light & Easy - Part 2

Day 4 - Tawau - Semporna

Took morning flight to Tawau, and then a 1-hour thrill ride to Semporna. Checked in at Dragon Inn - perhaps the coolest place in town.

Dragon Inn.

Spot the differences...

Semporna is a small town, so not much happening here. Tomorrow is D-day as we need to catch the 7.30am boat to Mabul.

Nice pose handsome boy...

Night view of Dragon Inn.

*******************

Day 5 - Mary Jane

Mabul is about 1+ hour from Semporna, populated by a few Bajau Laut & Suluk villages. The dive resorts are here as well (including Uncle Chang's budget "resort" which we stayed in - spending USD 500+ for 2 nights accomodation was not in our plans).

Dining hall @ lepak area.

Nearby Suluk village which we need to pass through to go to the beach.

Water Village in Mabul - for the rich & famous.

The aquarium - you can see Sipadan at far right.

Water Village & weird coconut tree.

*******************

Day 6 - Claire Danes

Snorkeling in Mabul was quite nice & rewarding too (miles better than Manukan.. or Phuket huhh). Most of our free time were spent walking around Mabul enjoying the view.

Woaahhhh....

More time wasting - just waiting for the next day....

Night shot from the jetty - perfect place just to lay back and enjoy the sea breeze and heavens above you.

*****************

Day 7 - Sipadan

Finally!! After a 30 mins ride we arrived at Sipadan. The conditions were a bit rough, and visibility was poor. First dive was at Whitetip Avenue. Well, nothing much can be seen, it was blurry and grey. Too bad!!
After a short while we decided to have an early lunch at the beach.

Next stop was Barracuda Point. This time we were not dissapointed as it was crystal clear!! We were greeted by barracudas, white-tip sharks and dozens of turtles, not to mention nemo and his colorful friends.

Our third and final stop was West Ridge. Again the view was breathtaking. You could say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but to experience it itself is worth more than a thousand pictures. Hahaha sort of

cute!
intan, r u in?

(intan, aku tau ko asyik bukak fp megat nih, baik jwb soalan aku. ah ah ah)

Sabah Light & Easy - Part 1

Day 1

This time its only 2 of us (Hakim & myself) on a mission to conquer Sabah in 1 week (6th - 12th August 2008). Left LCCT around 5pm, reached KK around 7.30pm and its already dark. Checked in and after a quick nap (Hakim) went out for dinner and a loooong walk. Yeah pretty un-eventful so far...

Dinner at the night market...cheap and fresh seafood.

************************

Day 2 - Road Trip

Rented a Viva (ughh) -RM120 per day for our road trip to Kinabalu Park. Hakim volunteered to drive first haha...

First stop - Jambatan Tamparuli, after 1 hour drive from KK (and after getting lost a few times)...

Wooo HDR hehehe...

Photographer in action...

After Tamparuli we drove up the mountains towards Kinabalu Park. Despite the heavy rain and fog we finally arrived there around 4pm. Nothing much actually at the park, only a few wet and shivering tourists (including us - wearing tshirts and shorts - haha must be crazy).

After Kinabalu Park, the initial plan was to go to Poring Hot Springs, but since its already late, we decided to catch the sunset on the way down.

Dinner at Garden Seafood KK - Deep fried siakap masak asam, black pepper crab & butter prawn...totally delicious!!
After dinner there's still time for a quick massage
Ok lah time to sleep....

***************

Day 3 - MAN U kan

3rd day was spent snorkeling at Manukan (practise utk Mabul & Sipadan kononnya). After a short walk to the Jesselton Jetty, we took a 15 mins boat ride to Manukan.

Nothing much in Manukan, compared to what we experienced in Sipadan

Since its already late evening, we decided to hang out at the jetty.

Hakim trying to shoot some hot babe.

Sunset in KK.

After dinner its time for some live band action at Waterfront - nice songs and some great singing (Celine Dion?) hehe...Slept early as we need to catch early flight to Tawau the next morning.

Some random pics in KK...
